Dear Lammersville Families,
I am excited to share that our kindergarten through fifth grade Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Program continues to expand. It is wonderful to walk into a classroom and hear students using rich academic language from the viewpoint of an engineer. Students continue to expand their understanding while collaborating with their peers to analyze a problem and design creative solutions. The innovation is not limited to the PLTW courses as classes were invited to see the “Cardboard Arcade” that was created by Ms. Hallam’s 6th-8th grade elective class. Students were very proud of the games they created with repurposed materials. Students were eager to share the insights that were gained through the creation process including the original brainstorming session, making design changes, and effective communication.
It is hard to believe but CAASPP testing is just around the corner. Testing for 3rd-8th grade students will begin the week of May 1st and will span for approximately two weeks. Please speak to your student’s teacher for class specific testing dates as it is best to refrain from planning a vacation or medical/dentist appointments during the designated testing window.
As always, thank you for all that you do to support our students and staff every day. I am looking forward to the remainder of the year with a schedule full of fun activities and celebrations.
